There are a myriad of reasons why creative people need to have a website.<\/p>\n

A ‘Click’ Away<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

We live in a global community where we are a click of a button away from the next gig, the next role, the next publishing contract, the next trending YouTube video, the next great song and so on.<\/p>\n

IF they want to share their creativity beyond their family and friends. There are an equal amount of self imposed excuses that people sprout for not having a website such \u2013\u00a0a website will be very expensive, it will take too long, I\u2019ll never be able to maintain it, I don\u2019t have the smarts to make it happen, I don\u2019t know where to start, I\u2019m too busy\u2026 etc, etc. etc\u2026 And yes, there is some truth in these statements but if you do see the value in having an online presence, the good news is, you don\u2019t have to do it on your own. There are literally thousands of resources available today to help in this area.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t let your limiting beliefs stop you. Read on!<\/p>\n

    Today there are talented web designers and developers who are itching to help you plan and implement a website that is relevant and resonates with your key market.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to sell your grandmother to have an attractive and efficient web presence. A simple, professional website can cost between $500 – $1500 or if you feel inclined there are plenty of \u2018DIY\u2019 templates such as wix.com<\/a>\u00a0that look great, are easy to use, are free or under $100.<\/p>\n

    It\u2019s a good idea to ask around for recommendations for webbies or post a request on your local business directories. I also recommend checking out\u00a0upwork.com<\/a>\u00a0a global freelance platform where businesses and individual professionals connect and collaborate remotely. I use\u00a0upwork.com<\/a>\u00a0and I\u2019m very happy with the results.<\/p>\n

    There are numerous books dedicated to web development.\u00a0\u2018Don\u2019t Make Me Think\u2019 <\/em>by Steve Krug is a top book which offers numerous examples of what works and what to avoid when designing an effective website.<\/p>\n
